As a daughter of the Mountain State living away from home, I’ve encountered everything from acceptance and respect to confusion and stereotyping (yes, West Virginia IS a state; no, my legs are not two different lengths; yes, I know what cutlery is; no, I don’t think incest jokes are funny).
I’ve traveled, I’ve spent years away at school in another state, I’ve moved home and moved away again, and I’ve spent my life in love with the Mountain State. It’s a love I want to share.
